The Service and Advisory Team

The Service and Advisory Team is a volunteer group of about 15 former students of the Study Program for Seniors at TU Dortmund University who now work as student counsellors.

Our Areas of Responsibility are...

  • Initial contact with interested parties
  • Admission registration and input for the team
  • Regular counselling hours and monthly team meetings
  • Archiving internship reports and theses
  • Design and staffing of information stands

We are...

  • learners,
  • motivated,
  • activ and creative persons,
who are willing to support the Study Program for Senior.

We...

come from different life and professional contexts, have different motivations and interests, but the same goals:

  • to make the Study Program for Seniors widely known,
  • to inform interested parties and
  • to be available to advise fellow students.

Our Basic Approach

  • We do not hand out prescriptions,
  • do not give advice,
  • do not meet expectations,
  • do not make decisions for others,
    but we:

  • promote wishes and needs,
  • give impulses,
  • encourage,
  • support,
  • promote the willingness to engage in conflict in order to clarify problems; and
  • make people curious about the unknown and unfamiliar.

We would also like to support others in taking advantage of this unique offer from the TU Dortmund!

The Study Program for Seniors stimulates:

  • to discover yourselve,
  • to try yourselve out,
  • to acquire competences for the third phase of life,
  • to deal with ageing, its crises and opportunities and, if necessary, new areas of work more confidently in self-responsibility.
